Q & AAre ICCAuctions © open to everyone? Everyone, except fakers and frauds. Once registered, you can buy and sell in real time from anywhere in the world. How often are auctions held? Current plans call for holding two Sales a year. An open posting period precedes each Sale. How are auctions closed? Each auction is assigned a close time at the beginning of the Sale. Close times will fall in a three to four hour period to allow final bidding to take place at a convenienttime in all time zones. You won't have to stay up all night (or get up early) to participate. Is sniping allowed? No. Last-second bids extend the auction, giving all bidders a chance to respond if desired. The sale goes to the last one bidding. Do ICCAuctions© entirely eliminate fakes and frauds? There are no guarantees in life, but ICCAuctions© favor the good guys. You are dealing with fellow collectors and known sellers operating with rules designed to protect both buyer and seller. See Terms and Conditions. What kind of corkscrews are in the auctions? Only genuine antiques with a minimum value of $100. See Terms and Conditions. Will auctions include any other kind of stuff? ICCAuctions are for corkscrews and wine accessories only. What are the fees? There is a low transaction fee to sellers based on actual sales. There is no listing fee, no buyer's fee and no fee if a corkscrew doesn't sell. See Fees. How low? Fees only cover the costs for maintaining the website and promoting a safe environment for corkscrew sales and collecting. That's it! There is nothing in it for any individual. The auction committee are all volunteers. Ebay, Christie's, dealers, etc. are (were) profit-based businesses and charge(d) accordingly. Is there a Buy-it-Now feature? Once started, all auctions run to scheduled completion. What are the shipping charges? That is between the seller and the buyer. Can I use PayPal? That is also up to the seller and buyer to work out. However, all registrants are encouraged to sign up for PayPal. It has proven to be the quickest, safest and most efficient method of payment, especially for international transactions where currency exchange is involved. Are more auctions being planned? ICCAuctions© plan to keep going... and going... What about the electronically challenged? Listing or bidding does not require advanced computer skills. If you can get on the internet you can build a great collection. Do I have to be a member of a club? No, but you are missing out on a great resource to support your interest in corkscrews. Meetings are fun and productive, and often involve world travel. |
